Welcome to the Nittany Leathernecks Detachment's history web site link. In order to preserve a bit of Marine Corps history, our detachment has elected to host the chronicle of a specific Marine Corps combat organization. As time marches on, the ranks have begun to thin out important parts of our illustrious history. In an effort to preserve one particular legacy of our Corps, we are endeavoring to capture and preserve the essence of a group of warriors who previously made their mark in combat. We hope other Marine Corps League detachments will take up the challenge and similarly host additional unit chronologies within their websites.
We would like to thank Centreconnect.org, a comprehensive countywide website of nonprofit, government and educational information serving Centre County, PA for hosting this website.

Visit the Korean War Educator web site

Welcome to the Korean War Educator web site that features a memoir by Nittany Leatherneck Herb Wong. The Korean War Educator  is a joint effort of civilians and veterans who are determined to establish and maintain a medium in which the general public can learn more about the Korean War. The site is a "Made in America" product. Veterans from all over the United States and the world are invited to help build this not-for-profit website. The Foundation seeks historically accurate information and photographs to make the Korean War Educator one of the world's most valuable resources and finding aids on the Korean War. All material should be submitted to the Foundation via its chief executive officer.

Visit the VMB-613 website

This website is dedicated to the officers and men of Marine Bombing Squadron Six-Thirteen who, as group of young men, served as Marines with the belief of Semper Fidelis.  Although many of them are now gone -- the rest in the twilight of their years -- it is fitting that this website be dedicated with the hope they will be remembered for their faithful and honorable service.
