Summary: Assigned acting-First Sergeant when VMF-112 first formed at NAS North Island in San Diego, CA. Following second combat tour at Guadalcanal, took remainder of the squadron back to Santa Barbara for reforming (1943). Transferred to group headquarters as Adjutant after selection to grade of Warrant Officer. Served additional tours in Phillipines and China. Discharged from active duty in 1949. Military awards include: Good Conduct Medal and Presidential Unit Citation. Following military service employed with Univac until retirement in 1986.
