duty with VMF-112, continued Pacific
campaign effort aboard
USS Bunker Hill with VMF-451 which
participated in New Georgia, Iwo
Jima, and Okinawa operations. Wounded
aboard the Bunker
Hill on 11 May 1943, for which he
received the Purple Heart. Discharged
from the Marine Corps 21 September
1945. Post USMC
activity included auto body repair,
aircraft hydraulics maintenance,
and construction contractor. Was
actively involved in construction
work up to his death at age 88.
